Meet the Team
What started as a love story has turned into something much deeper….
Favourite Veggie: Garlic (watch out, vampires)
Go to spot on the farm: In the polytunnel when the tomatoes are up
Happiest when: Cuddling puppies and eating sausages
Hobbies: Writing, crate digging, cooking, arts & crafts, DJing, swimming, and getting in the sauna
Special skills: In Milo’s world… when something is interesting, it is REALLY INTERESTING. This is a man who can rabbit hole away for hours, losing track of time and space over subjects that seriously niche (you can follow him down the various rabbit holes on substack) and never ever get bored.
Founder, Head Grower and ideas machine
Meet Milo
After a wiggly start in London, Milo decided he wanted to make a tangible difference in our current food systems.
This was the start of his growing career. After moving to Cornwall he cut his teeth at Good Earth Growers, before moving to Coombeshead where he headed up the market garden and sharpened his skillset. Milo spent a decade in growing and farming before deciding to start something himself.
In 2022, he set about turning an empty paddock into something that could genuinely serve both the local community and the natural world around it. He brings with him not just knowledge but a quality of care that treats the land as a collaborator, not a resource.
He is a big dreamer in the best sense: someone who looks at a patch of earth and sees a different kind of future taking shape in it.
Food production, for Milo, has never just been about what ends up on the table. It's an embodiment of his hopes for what a more harmonious relationship between humanity, nature, and community might actually look like - lived out on the land, season by season.
He is proud to be a small part of a larger wave of change.
His hope is that Earthbound becomes a place where people can experience, firsthand, what it feels like to live a little closer to the rhythms of a balanced and nourishing ecosystem.
Business Partner (who does a little bit of everything)
Meet Alys
Alys is the behind-the-scenes mind at Earthbound - the person that helps land the vision, & quietly makes sure everything is built on solid foundations that are set up to last.
From social media, to business strategy, to being on the ground growing, building relationships with local practitioners and cooking- she is a jack of all trades.
Having grown up surrounded by nature, that relationship has never really left her. She came by a winding road: corporate work in London, followed by working at a number of FMCG start-ups during blitzscale stage learning all about systems and growth, before quitting it, moving Italy to cook and teach people how to breathe. Now, alongside building Earthbound, Al is helping shape & grow the very inspiring 42 Acres.
Through her own personal journey decided to turn down the noise and instead focus inwards.
She is a Transformational Breath®, Oxygen Advantage Coach, NLP, Trauma Informed Somatic Practitioner and intuitive. Al has a deep understanding of our nervous systems, and how to regulate them in a fast paced - demanding world. She is an endless advocate for the role nature plays in supporting a sustainable model for human health - and lives by the idea that sometimes, what we actually need isn't to keep doing; it's instead to be, to plant our hands in the soil and move our bodies.
She helps keep us on the right path, holds the farm's wellbeing and collaboration offerings, it’s growth, the logistics, (etc etc) all with lot of the love.
Favourite Veggie: Bright orange carrots
Go to spot on the farm: The apple orchard with a cup of tea and a sunshine
Happiest when: Dancing bare foot under a sky and eating too many Italian paninis on a beach, not moving due to food coma
Hobbies: Cooking, writing, baking, big fat walks in the rain, exercise in any form, a wannabe herbalist and DJing very badly
Special skills: Al has a whole dictionary of phrases / words that are entirely hers and don’t make any sense but do. In essence she regularly merges sayings / phrases together by accident, and with such conviction everytime.
For example: ‘and that will all just be water under the bus’
Between the two of us, we have both trodden different paths that have led us to the same space. We are fortunate to have found in each other someone who holds the same beliefs, values and vision for what it means to live an abundant and rich life. It turns out (thankfully) that we see the world in a similar way, and have the skills that compliment one another in bringing that world to life.
Milo is the easy breasy genius and initiator, Al is the refiner and builder. Earthbound is not only our home, it is an expression of our love, mutual passions and purpose. It is a place for nourishment, a chance to slow down and to reconnect to what is important.
We grow food, care for bodies, share skills, and build community - slowly, seasonally, together.
Above all, we try to do it with a smile on our face and warmth in our hearts. (And with the knowledge that some days it will be easier than others)
Thanks for finding your way here.
Big hugs,
Al & Milo xo
(And Laika, Pie, Lowki our four legged friends)
